Background Story:
This image represents the moment where all of my efforts to experience the Amalfi Coast came together. I chose to visit in June specifically because that's when the flowers there are in bloom, the temperatures are modest, the crowds are thinner, and the early spirit of summer is still alive.
This picture is simple, but getting to this location was a challenge. I had to scramble through New York to find the right film camera, fly across the Atlantic, take a high speed rail from Milan, squeeze onto a crowded commuter train, navigate through the windy mountain roads of small Italian towns I never heard of on foot, and then hike an additional 7 miles through the Path of Gods to reach this corner. In the end it was all worth it.
